I was recently asked, in this interview with Inside Cabaret, what cabaret is. A lot of people would probably say that cabaret is a very personal, intimate exchange of music and stories between a performer and audience.
My answer was:
Cabaret is… singy-sing, talky-talk, and (for the audience, mostly) drinky-drink. The rest is up to you…
